The inception seminar of the “Artik city closed stone pit wastes and flood management” pilot project

On 23 July 2019 in the municipality of Artik took place the inception seminar of the “Artik city closed stone pit wastes and flood management” pilot project.

During the seminar deputy secretary-general of Ministry of Environment A. Avalyan, director of “EPIU” SA M. Galstyan, head of the Artik community M. Varagyan, and the representatives of ME, «EPIU» SA, Shirak provincial administration office, territorial administration bodies, and NGOs.

With opening speech, deputy director of “EPIU” SA S. Baloyan welcomed all the participants of the seminar and briefly presented the aim of the project. Afterward, deputy secretary-general of Ministry of Environment A. Avalyan had confidently stated that the project would be implemented in a high level.

The director of “EPIU” SA M. Galstyan presented the project; it’s plan and schedule, also answered to the questions of seminar participants. Then the head of project implementation unit of donors of “EPIU” SA E. Voskanyan presented the budget of project monitoring and evaluation and the indicators.

Afterward, the signing ceremony of the agreement on the sustainability of the results of “Artik city closed stone pit wastes and flood management” pilot project  took place between the Ministry of Environment and Artik, Vardaqar, Harich and Nahapetavan communities of Shirak marz.
