In the frameworks of regular seminar-consulting “Green Climate Fund – new financing opportunities” the “Environmental Project Implementation Unit” on 30th of January, 2019 has organized two meetings with private sector companies, where the duties of Fund, financing mechanisms, also the opportunities of cooperation with it were introduced. The director of “EPIU” M. Galstyan has welcomed and presented the challenges of climate change, and the impacts on the Planet, the strategy of Armenia for climate change mitigation and adaptation, new opportunities of climate financing and cooperating with Green Climate Fund. Afterward, the experts of “EPIU” have presented the main principles and objectives of Green Climate Fund. Also, they have introduced detailed information about the accreditation process, financial instruments /grants, loans, equity, guarantees/ and the possibilities of implementing climate change programs with support of the Fund. An interesting discussion was launched, as a result of which the parties agreed on the further cooperation.
