On September 27, 2019 the inception seminar of “Strengthening land-based adaptation capacity in communities adjacent to protected areas in Armenia” program took place in Dilijan.
Mr. Vardan Melikyan, the deputy minister of Ministry of Environment, and the director of “EPIU” SA Mr. Meruzhan Galstyan, also the representatives of ME, Tavush, Shirak and Ararat municipalities, “Dilijan” National Park, “Khosrov Forest” State Reserve, territorial administrative bodies, and NGOs were present during the seminar.
The director of “EPIU” SA Meruzhan Galstyan welcomed the participants, presented the program, and answered to all the questions of the seminar members. Mr. Vardan Melikyan, in his speech, expressed his confidence that the project would proceed at a high level.
Head of eco-educational project unit Rubik Shahazizyan has presented the project components and indicators. Afterward, the signing ceremony of the agreement on the sustainability of “Strengthening land-based adaptation capacity in communities adjacent to protected areas in Armenia” program results was held between the Ministry of Environment and the representatives of Dilijan, Mrgahovit, Fioletovo, and Urtsador communities.
