Seminar on presentation of the seventh National Report on the UN Convention to Combat Desertification
On September 28 of this year, a seminar on the presentation of the seventh National Report on the UN Convention to Combat Desertification was hosted at Erebuni Plaza Business Center. The seminar was attended by the representatives of the Ministries of Nature Protection, Agriculture, Emergency Situations, Health, Transport, Communications and Information Technologies, Energy Infrastructure and Natural Resources of the Republic of Armenia, international organizations, universities, and NGOs. Accreditation to the Green Climate Fund
On 27th of February, 2019 in Songdo, Republic of Korea during the 22nd meeting of Green Climate Fund (GCF) Board accreditation application of “Environmental Projects Implementation Unit” SI has been approved. Over the past two and a half years “EPIU” has been working diligently for going through the required stages for accreditation. So, it is a great honor for us to find ourselves being the first national entity accredited by GCF among 14 countries of Eastern Europe, Central Asia and the Caucasus. Accreditation provides direct access to financial resources of Fund by giving opportunity to “EPIU” to implement grant projects up to 10 mln. USD.
Contract conclusion with the ”Regional Environmental Centre for the Caucasus” Armenian office
On the 6th of July of this year ”Environmental Projects Implementation Unit” SA and the “Regional Environmental Centre for the Caucasus” Armenian office signed an agreement on the elaboration of the 6th national report on the implementation of the Convention on Biological Diversity. The signing ceremony was attended by the representatives of the RoA Ministry of Nature Protection, “EPIU” SI, “REC” Caucasus Armenian Office and the National Coordinator for the implementation of the Convention.

A working meeting took place at “EPIU” SA office on the 6th of August 2018. During the mentioned meeting an agreement with “Geomapis” LLC, the winner of the tender announced by “EPIU” SI, was signed to develop the National Report on implementation of “UN Convention to Combat Desertification” in Armenia during 2017-2018. The meeting was attended by the members of the working group of “Geomapis” LLC, the national coordinator of the Convention and the head of “EPIU” SI. The National Coordinator presented the methodology of elaboration of the national report. As well as, some clarifications were given in response to the questions raised by the working group members.
