Adaptation Fund’s Technical Assistance Grant project

Grant project aims to strengthen the capacity of “EPIU” SI in the areas of environmental, social and gender risk management and evaluation. As well as align its procedures and policies with the ones of Adaptation Fund.

“Preparation of 7th National Report to Combat Desertification”

“EPIU” SA has elaborated and submitted the 7th National Report to the Secretariat of The United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification. The project was funded by the Global Environment Facility (GEF) and the UN Environment Program (UNEP). The report is ready and posted on the webpage of Convention to Combat Desertification.

“Engaging future leaders: digital education module on adaptation challenges and best practices for youth” grant project

The “Engaging future leaders: digital education module on adaptation challenges and best practices for youth” project has been elaborated and presented to the Adaptation Fund by “EPIU” SA, which would be discussed during Adaptation Fund’s Board meeting (March 12-15 2019). In the case of project approval, Armenia would be listed as one of the countries, implementing innovative projects in the field of environmental protection.

“EPIU” SA has been accredited to the Green Climate Fund

On 27th of February, 2019 in Songdo, Republic of Korea during the 22nd meeting of Green Climate Fund (GCF) Board accreditation application of “Environmental Projects Implementation Unit” SI has been approved. Over the past two and a half years “EPIU” has been working diligently for going through the required stages for accreditation. So, it is a great honor for us to find ourselves being the first national entity accredited by GCF among 14 countries of Eastern Europe, Central Asia and the Caucasus. Accreditation provides direct access to financial resources of Fund by giving opportunity to “EPIU” to implement grant projects up to 10 mln. USD.
