A series of workshops on the 7th National Report of the UNEP/GEF Convention to Combat Desertification Grant Project were organized by “Environmental Projects Implementation Unit” State Agency at Tsaghkadzor General Sport Complex from February 1 to February 6, 2021. The aim of the workshop was to present the principles of the 7th National Report of the Convention to Combat Desertification to the interested parties.
Representatives from the Governor’s Offices of Aragatsotn, Armavir, Kotayk and Gegharkunik, municipalities of Armavir, Gavar, Martuni, Abovyan, Hrazdan and Tsaghkadzor, RA Ministry of Environment, Sevan National Park, “Hydrometeorology and Monitoring Center” State Non-Commercial Organization (SNCO), Committee of Forest of the Ministry of Environment, Natural History Museum of Armenia, Aarhus Environmental Center, “Green Lane” NGO, “Acopian Center for the Environment” (American University of Armenia), Center for Environmental Researches, “Center for Public Information and Monitoring” NGO, “Dalma-Sona” cultural and educational, social and ecological foundation actively participated in the workshops.
According to the agenda of the workshops, the teaching staff comprehensively presented to the participants the strategic goals of the 7th National Report of the Convention to Combat Desertification, and an interesting discussion was extended on each of them.
The topics of the workshops aroused great interest among the participants, they asked a number of questions, which were also clarified by the EPIU staff members.
The participants were provided with printed versions of the brochures of the 7th National Report of the Convention to Combat Desertification.
