Next ordinal seminar-consulting in the frameworks of “Readiness Support” program of Green Climate Fund entitled “Green Climate Fund – new financing opportunities” has been organized by “EPIU” SI in Gyumri Technology Center on 14th of February, 2019. The main aim of the seminar- consulting was to introduce possibilities of cooperation between Green Climate Fund and the Republic of Armenia, as well as the general conditions and frameworks of financing opportunities. The director of “Environmental Projects Implementation Unit” Meruzhan Galstyan has welcomed and presented the impacts of climate change, approaches of international organizations as well as new opportunities of climate financing. Afterward, project experts V. Babayan and Tigran Sukiasyan have presented the description of activities, main principles, and objectives of Green Climate Fund. Also, the targets and goals, donor countries and structure of the fund was introduced by them. They have provided detailed information about the accreditation process, financial instruments (grants, loans, equity, guarantees) and possibilities of implementing climate change programs with support of the Fund. In the end, brief guides about the activities, as well as opportunities for the cooperation of the Green Climate Fund were provided to the participants, published by the “EPIU” SI. An interesting discussion was launched, as a result of which the parties agreed on further cooperation.
